Autumn Pasquale Murder Case Arrests Made, PHL Baggage Handler Steals $20,000

At a press conference this afternoon, Gloucester County prosecutor Sean Dalton announced the arrest of two teenage brothers in connection to the death of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale. Dalton said Autumn was lured to the home of the 15 and 17-year-old brothers where the crime was allegedly committed for the purpose of obtaining parts from her BMX bike. A preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma consistent with strangulation. There was no evidence of sexual assault. The boy's mother alerted police to suspicious posts by one of the boys on their Facebook pages. After a search warrant was executed at their home some of Pasquale's belongings and her bike were recovered. The home is near where her body was found the night before in a recycling bin and close to Autumn's own home. They have both been charged with 1st degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, disposing of the body, tampering with evidence, and theft. The younger brother is also charged with luring.

The two teenage killers were apparently known to Autumn from the neighborhood. One of them was spotted at a Monday night candlelight vigil for the girl as well as 'liking' the Facebook page dedicated to the search effort when she was missing. Their names have not officially been released because they are minors but the prosecutor's office has made it known they will strongly consider passing this case to adult court.

Autumn's family says a public viewing will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Glassboro. A funeral Mass at the church will follow at 2 p.m., and burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Clayton.

Federal authorities in Philadelphia say an airport baggage handler has been charged with stealing $20,000 in a new type of $100 bill never released to the public. Alex Price was working Oct. 11 when a US Airways flight arrived from Dallas carrying millions of dollars in the new $100 bill. The theft of $20,000 was reported after the shipment arrived at the Federal Reserve facility in East Rutherford, N.J. An FBI agent alleges in court documents the 25-year-old Price said he was the only handler with direct access to the cash.

According to real estate website Zillow, Philadelphia is one of the top cities in the country for trick-or-treating. The City of Brotherly Love ranked ninth on the 20 city list. Chestnut Hill, Manayunk, Mount Airy, South Philly and Fox Chase were chosen as the best neighborhoods for scoring treats. And if you’re wondering how Zillow compiled the list, the company’s blog says it used a combination of data including home values, crime statistics, local population density and walkability.
