More than three months after his child sex abuse conviction in a case that set Penn State University on its ear, Jerry Sandusky is to be sentenced today in Centre County Court. Before Sandusky is sentenced, there will be a hearing on whether, under Pennsylvania's "Megan's Law," Sandusky should be designated a sexually violent predator. Many expect that Sandusky, will receive a sentence on 45 counts related to child sex abuse that will effectively keep him in prison for the rest of his life.

A North Jersey man is facing charges for his alleged part in a post-wedding brawl at a Philadelphia hotel over the weekend, two others were arrested and an uncle of a bride suffered a fatal heart attack following the melee. Police confirm 26-year-old Matthew Sofka, of Westfield, New Jersey, has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Riot for his alleged role in wedding brawl at the Society Hill Sheraton Sunday. Sources say he’s the brother of one of the grooms. Authorities say one man besides Sofka will most likely face charges of assaulting an officer, while another is charged with disorderly conduct. It is unclear what prompted the initial fight.

A flash mob broke out in Center City Monday evening, with the goal of cleaning up Love Park. With supplies and organization provided by Cleanitsupply.com, a couple dozen men and women met in front of the famous ‘LOVE’ sculpture and were given brooms, dustpans, trash bags and rubber gloves. With that, they were off to start cleaning up trash throughout the park. Cleanitsupply.com says it would like to do similar events throughout the city in the coming months.
