As the search for fallen Philadelphia Police Officer Moses Walker Junior's killer intensified and a reward for information leading to an arrest increased to $35,000, his family and friends held a candlelight vigil on Sunday evening to honor his memory and to mourn his loss. Officer Walker was killed early Saturday morning after he left his shift at the 22nd district in North Philadelphia.
His family and friends gathered near the area where he was killed, turning to each other for comfort and healing.

Philadelphia Police were investigating the shooting death of a man in Oxford Circle on Sunday. The victim was killed after he was shot in the chest along the 1300 block of Wells Street around 4:30 p.m.
It wasn’t initially clear what led to the shooting, but witnesses say a fight broke out nearby, and then gunfire erupted. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

A woman in Bucks County is the latest person in the Philadelphia area to contract West Nile virus. According to health officials, the 54-year-old woman is in good condition and is not hospitalized.
There have now been eight confirmed cases of West Nile virus in Pennsylvania in 2012. A few days ago, local health officials said two men in Delaware County were also diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease.
