6th Walla Fest This Sunday; Interview Tonight at 5pm

  by: Hailey - Collegeville, PA
started: 08/10/12 5:45 pm | updated: 08/10/12 5:45 pm

The 6th Walla Fest will be this Sunday with even more to see and hear than the last five! Walla Fest celebrated its one year anniversary a little over a month ago at the 5th Walla Fest, and the founders have kept it going as a way to "put Norristown on the map." The Fest allows for high school age students to showcase their creative talents, music or art, to peers and the community.

The doors will open at 6pm for the artists on the first floor, admission is $5. First floor artwork will include: photography work, paintings of all sizes, a video project and even a clothing line! In addition to all of the artwork, there will also be an open mic session. The open mic is first come; first serve and musicians can play a song.

At 7pm, the music will start where the line-up includes Shorty Boy-Boy, Idle Idols, Drew Mills, The Districts, and Carmel Liburdi. The Districts, a blues/folk/rock band, were at the one year anniversary fest and will be back again. Carmel Liburdi is currently on a tour, and hails from Detroit, making her part of the night extra special.

If you can’t make it Sunday night, tune into iradiophilly.com/wallafest to listen to the live broadcast.

Additionally, listen to an interview with the founders at 5pm today, 8/10, on BYO.

Listen to the entire interview with Walla Fest founders Ant Bui, Keba, and Yesenia from 8/10/12.
