Wawa Welcome America, North Philadelphia Homicide, Coatesville Row Home Fire

Some of the events have been announced for this year's "Wawa Welcome America" celebration, during the days surrounding America's birthday on July 4th.

'Taste of Philadelphia,' "kicks off June 29th and goes through until Sunday, July 1st." Sunday, July 1st, will also be "Gospel Day" on Penn's Landing. Also back this year, on July 3rd, Peter Nero and the Pops. And the festivities wrap up with a free party on the Parkway, July 4th, featuring "The Roots."

Police are investigating a homicide in North Philadelphia that happened Wednesday afternoon. The male victim was shot once in the chest and once in the arm, was transported to Temple University Hospital, and was pronounced dead around 8:45 p.m. as a result of his injuries. No arrests have been made, but the suspect is described as a black male who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Fire tore through nine row homes in Chester County in Coatesville. No one was injured and the community is doing what it can to help those in need. Donations are being accepted at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Coatesville. They’re in need of sheets and clothing. If you’d like to pitch in, here is the contact information:
