Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey is in Washington DC today for the first public meeting of a policing task force set up in the wake of grand jury decisions in New York and Ferguson, Missouri. Ramsey is the co-chair of the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing. This panel includes law enforcement, community leaders and those in academia. The group is asked to tackle law enforcement issues, especially those in communities where the trust gap is wide between citizens and the officers called on to serve and protect them. Among the ideas set to be discussed is the use of body cameras on police officers. Ramsey is a proponent of the technology and a pilot program is in effect in the city’s 22nd police district.

The husband of a missing Mount Laurel, New Jersey woman wass in police custody, being questioned in her disappearance. Twenty-six-year-old Erica Crosby hasn’t been seen since December 30th. Her husband, Kyle Crosby, was taken into custody by police after a traffic stop Monday night. He has not been charged in her disappearance, however police were questioning him late Monday night.

UPDATE 1/13/15 2:30 pm: Kyle Crosby has been charged with Erica Crippen's murder. Erica's body has not been recovered.

The “Cake Boss” is heading to the city of Brotherly Love to open up a shop. Carlo’s Bakery announced on Twitter it will be opening a bakery in Philadelphia. The shop will reportedly open at 21st and Walnut Streets in Rittenhouse Square in March.
