Radiohead releases new album "The King of Limbs"

Radiohead's eighth album "The King of Limbs" is now here, and "shockingly" available a day earlier than announced. Whether it was Friday as it is or Saturday as it was going to be, it's how you can get it that even makes that possible. Just as the previous release, 2007's "In Rainbows", you can only get this album as a download directly from Radiohead. Unlike "Rainbows" you don't get to name your own price. (I admit I did opt to pay $0 for that one to see if it would work). Anyway, it's $9 for... Read More

Villanova's Matt Szczur chooses MLB

Many college students in their senior year around this time of year are busy with interviews trying to land a job once they graduate. Giving the current job market, those opportunities are slim and many future grads may not even get a job in their field or one at all right away. However, Matt Szczur had the luxury of entering this year knowing he had at least one job, and a pretty good chance at another, both that would make him very rich. That's not to mention that those two jobs were... Read More

Glenn Beck say Philadelphia "Sucks"

by: quadpain - Huntingdon Valley, PA

Well now that he is no longer on the radio here, it seems like he feels he can air his thoughts about our fair city openly to the rest of the nation. Frankly he thinks Philadelphia "sucks!" Whatever your opinion of Mr. Beck is, I would say his comments today are cowardly, off base and misdirected (maybe a little resentment at being dropped from the airwaves). I mean, come on? Would you feel unsafe walking around Independence Hall at 6pm?! Anyway, hear for yourself:

Philadelphia Union a bunch of Bimbo's

Just say "Beembo"! The Union's new jersey sponsor was just announced as Bimbo Bakeries USA for the next 4 years. The parent company is a Mexican bakery and apparently we're all supposed to get over the obvious American slang reading of the company name and pronounce it in Spanish. I liked the Union's jersey before, sans sponsor, and would have worn one. I hate how all of soccer's team jerseys are full of ads, but this one is just silly. I understand Bimbo is on a few Mexican teams too, but... Read More

Make that two in a row for the first time this year, after tonight's 88-79 win over Portland, bringing them to a scorching 5-13. Next up is at Atlanta on Friday to try and extend it to three...... Read More

DeSean and Eagles deliver early Christmas Miracle

28 points (4 TDs) in under 8 minutes! All I can say is wow! Go Eagles! Here's the icing on the fruit cake, a nice little holiday brick we threw at the Giants, a 2010 "Miracle in the Meadowlands":

At the end I was just hoping Jackson would just get in the end zone and forgo any... Read More

Cliff Lee possibly a Phillie again !?

by: quadpain - Huntingdon Valley, PA
started: 12/13/10 6:42 pm | updated: 12/13/10 8:54 pm

Cliff Lee may be making his way back to the pinstripes of the red and white, and not those from the Bronx. The Phils are in strong contention to land Cliff over the Yankees. Can you imagine that rotation? Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, Lee ! A decision could be made on Tuesday. The front office made the decision (I say needlessly) to trade him for prospects last year, hopefully they can lure him back to Philly for next year.

I like this... Read More

Nice Eagles win in Big D!

Always great to get a win in Dallas, especially over this seemingly rejuvenated Cowboys team. The Birds need to keep rolling through the season. Huge game this Sunday though. But you know something is going right when the opponents are asking you for autographs on the... Read More

Werth?! Come on now, the Nats?

by: quadpain - Huntingdon Valley, PA
started: 12/05/10 2:08 pm | updated: 12/07/10 2:49 pm

Really? Well you found your perfect place. You got paid and the team stinks so bad that it doesn't matter that you are half asleep in the field every game. If you actually cared about winning and waited for a decent team to make an offer you'd have to actually stay alert sometimes and play.... Read More
