Springfield Police have arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed another driver during a road rage incident on Wednesday morning, 6/28, in Delaware County. 22-year-old Saddiq Washington of Darby is charged with first-degree murder, third-degree murder, and recklessly endangering another person in the death of 54-year-old King Hua of Springfield. It happened around 8:45 a.m. on State Road (Rt 1) near Meetinghouse Road. Hua was driving southbound on State Road with his wife in the passenger seat. They were in rush hour traffic. A dark blue Chevy Equinox passed them on the shoulder and stopped. Washington's mother was driving and he was a passenger. He partially got out of the vehicle and shot at the Toyota. Hua was struck by the gunfire and died at the hospital. Police believe that Washington was angered that Hua was driving too slow in traffic. Police credit tips from the public and surveillance video in helping track down the suspect. Washington had recently purchased the handgun and received a permit to carry.

A Delaware state auditor was acquitted of several felony charges, but convicted of three misdemeanor charges. 55-year-old Kathy McGuinness was acquitted of theft and intimidation charges. The jury found her guilty of three lesser charges - conflict of interest, official misconduct and structuring a contract to avoid a procurement rule.

At least 70 shots were fired in a triple shooting in Frankford on Thursday night, 6/30. It happened around 10 p.m. on the 4700 block of Griscom Street near the Arrott Transportation Center. Three people were injured. Police believe that two groups of people were firing upon each other. A 30-year-old man was found in the driver's seat of a Mazda with a gun shot would to the head. He is in critical condition. That man is also being held as a suspect. He was seen on surveillance opening fire. A 28-year-old man was shot in his right knee. A 27-year-old man was shot shot in the arm. They were all taken to Temple University Hospital. Police did recover weapons. The investigation is ongoing.
