Philadelphia City Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson introduced a new bill that would changed the city's curfew for minors to help stave off youth violence. Currently, the curfew for minors aged 13 and under is 9:30 p.m. and aged 14-15 is 10 p.m. Those aged 16-17 is currently Midnight. Gilmore Richardson proposes that the curfew for those older teens aged 16-17 be moved back to 10 p.m. for the duration of the summer until September 29. "Young people are getting caught up in dangerous situations, and we cannot continue to go on like this," Gilmore Richardson said in a release. "There have already been 92 children under 18 shot this year. We are besieged in our communities, and as leaders, we must do everything we can to keep our young people safe. With two Community Evening Resource Centers already open and two more in the RFP phase, we have created safe spaces for young people to go to get connected to resources, mentorship, and skills development. Reducing the curfew for our older teens over the summer will help us keep more young people safe during the historically violent summer months."

A New Jersey woman and teenager have been charged after leaving three children in a locked car while they shopped inside a Walmart in Egg Harbor Township on Wednesday, 6/8. It happened around 2:45 p.m. at the Oak Tree Plaza on the 6800 block of the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township. Police were called to the report of three small children crying inside a locked vehicle. They used a lock-out kit to open the doors and retrieve the 3-year-old, 1-year-old, and 5-month-old. The car was not running and was 86 degrees inside. The children were taken to Atlantic City Medical Center by Egg Harbor Township EMS and are expected to be ok. Police determined thorough surveillance footage that Cyndie Jourdain and a 17-year-old girl, both of Galloway Township, had been shopping inside for 45 minutes while the children were left inside the car. They were arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They were released pending a court appearance.

Three people were stabbed in Kensington on Thursday morning, 6/9. It happened around 9 a.m. on the 2500 block of Amber Street. A 42-year-old woman was stabbed once in her hand, a 21-year-old woman was stabbed in the right arm, and a 26-year-old man was stabbed once in his left wrist. The two women were taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition. The male victim refused treatment. A suspect was taken into custody and a weapon was retrieved.
