A mass shooting incident rocked South Street in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia late Saturday night, 6/4. Three people were killed and 11 more were injured when shots rang out following some sort of confrontation. Hundreds of people were out along South Street between 2nd and 4th street enjoying the nice weather on the popular tourist and nightlife corridor. The area is usually visibly patrolled by police officers. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw confirmed that there was a beefed up presence last night in addition to the usual detail. Shots were fired around 11:30 p.m. on the 400 block. Video surveillance shows men engaged in an argument and altercation before the shooting starting. Video also shows the large crowed reacting to the shots and fleeing. Two uniformed officers responded to the scene after hearing shots and tended to victims. A third officer fired at male with a gun shooting into the crowd. Police believe that man was struck. He dropped his weapon and fled.

The three dead include a 34-year-old male who is believed to be one of the shooters. A 27-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were also killed. The 11 others injured range in ages from 17 to 69-years-old. They are listed in stable to critical condition. Other than the one man, no other victim is believed to have been involved. Ballistics evidence reveals that 5 firearms were used. The investigation is ongoing. Police have recovered two. If you have any information, contact 215-686-TIPS.

Dave McCormick conceded the Pennsylvania Republican nomination for U.S. Senate for Dr. Mehmet Oz on Friday evening, 6/3. The GOP primary race was in the midst of an automatic recount as the two candidate finished within 0.1% of each other in last month's election. McCormick, who had just won a case in Commonwealth Court to have all mail-in ballots counted, made the determination that he would not be able to make up the 902-vote difference and overtake Oz. The recount will finish next week. Dr. Oz will now face PA Lt. Governor John Fetterman in the general election. They are fighting for the open Senate seat left by retiring Senator Pat Toomey (R). Fetterman is still not back on the campaign trail. He suffered a stroke due to atrial fibrillation days before the the primary election. He also had surgery to implant a defibrillator. He announced on Friday, 6/3, that he is als o diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. That is the reason for the pacemaker.

The body of 19-year-old Alfred Williams was recovered on Saturday morning in Wildwood Crest. Williams of Drexel Hill went missing while swimming in Wildwood on Tuesday, 5/31. Authorities believe that he got caught in a rip tide. Rescuers saved two other swimmers at that time while a third was able to make it back to shore on his own. Local, state, and national agencies were involved in searches efforts until they were called off at the end of the day on Wednesday.

A baby's life was saved after their pregnant mother was shot and killed in Port Richmond early Saturday morning. It happened around 1 a.m. near Richmond Street and Wheatsheaf Lane. A man driving a dark-colored black or blue Chevrolet Camaro or Dodge Charger shot the woman in her early 20s. She was taken to Temple University Hospital. The woman was pronounced dead at 1:56 a.m. but doctor's were able to save her baby. Police did not say where the woman was in her pregnancy.
