Philly Pastor Charged Sex Assault of Minors; Malvern Fatal Police Shooting; 5 Shot Near Temple

The pastor of Holy Ghost Headquarters Revival Center in North Philadelphia has been arrested for sexually assaulting three young people. 59-year-old Mark Hatcher is charged with sex assault, rape, sex assault of a minor, and multiple counts of indecent assault of a minor. The charges were filed by Whitpain Township detectives in Montgomery County. Hatcher lives in Blue Bell. The assaults date back as far as 2000. He is accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl, assaulting a 6-year-old boy, and raping a 13-year-old girl. Two of the victims are family members and one was a member of the church. Hatcher uses the title 'Chief Apostle.' The church operates out of The Met Philadelphia on North Broad Street. He was remanded without bail.

Chester County authorities are investigating a fatal police shooting in Malvern on Thursday morning, 5/19. It happened around 11:18 a.m. in the 800 block of Charleston Greene. Police responded to a unit in the townhouse community for a well-being check. They encountered a subject with a gun and a struggle ensued. An officer opened fire and the person was killed. No additional information about the circumstances are available. Authorities say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. Chester County detectives are investigating.

Five people were shot in North Philadelphia near Temple University's campus on Wednesday night, 5/18. It happened on the 1500 block of Bouvier Street. Three woman and two men were shot. A 28-year-old man was shot 14 times and is in extremely critical condition. A 20-year-old woman was shot seven times and is also in extremely critical condition. A 59-year-old man was shot once and is in critical condition. A 21-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman are in stable condition. Two people seen fleeing the scene were taken into custody. A weapon was recovered. No word on a possible motive.
