Police State of Emergency, Mr. Met Top Mascot, Platt Bridge Truck Ban

The Delaware County police officer suspended for using a taser gun on a teen while handcuffed in jail has been reinstated. Lt. Wesley Seitz is back on the job but three other officers have been suspended and a state of emergency has been declared by the mayor of Colwyn.

Say it ain’t so! In a Forbes ranking of the best sports mascots, the Phillie Phanatic comes in second behind the New York Mets Mr. Met! Mr. Met, the mascot with the big baseball for a head has nowhere near the energy and entertainment value of our Phillie Phanatic. And like the Mets, Mr. Met typically collapses by the All Star break.

The Platt Bridge in Southwest Philadelphia is under construction and PennDOT has announced that tractor trailer rigs carrying chemicals and other hazardous materials will be banned until the summer of 2014. Safety concerns are the reason since the bridge is down to one lane in each direction.

Sports
The Phillies and Brave play this afternoon.
The Flyers and Devils continue their playoff series tonight.

Weather
