A husband and wife were killed and a neighbor was injured in a residential house fire in Berks County early Sunday morning. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at a home on the 100 block of Orchard View Drive in Amity Township. Firefighters found the bodies of Henry J. Fordham, III and his wife Sharon Fordham in a second floor bathroom. A neighbor had tried to save the couple, but was injured after escaping through a second floor window. He is being treated at Reading Hospital. The entire home collapsed due to the blaze. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Henry J. Fordam III was the president of the Allegheny East Conference Corporation of Seventh-day Adventists.

"We are devastated to report the passing of our beloved president, Henry J. Fordham, III and his loving wife Sharon Fordham. They passed tragically in a house fire early Sunday morning, July 18th. More information will be shared as received. We are soliciting urgent prayers for the Fordham and AEC family as we process this great loss for our conference," said AEC.

A Bucks County police officer who had previously been arrested on child porn charges now faces even more charges. 47-year-old Matthew Reiss of Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery County, was arrested in May and charged after 10 images were found in his email. District Attorney Kevin Steele said those images showed "children under the age of 13 in various stages of undress, in sexual poses and being sexually assaulted." On Friday, 7/16, the D.A.'s office said that a search warrant found more images. Reiss is now charged with 1,700 felony counts of possessing child pornography. Reiss is an 18-year veteran of the Hilltown Township Police Department in Bucks County and has been on administrative leave since his initial arrest.

The National Weather Service Mount Holly/Philadelphia determined that a tornado touched down in Burlington County, NJ, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night, 7/17. The tornado was rated EF-1 with estimated peak wind speeds of 80-90 mph along a 7.9 mile path in the northwest portion of the county. Storm damage included downed trees and snapped tree limbs. Some residents were without power.
