The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office is now investigating homicide charges against two North Carolina men accused of drugging and raping a Bucks County woman. 24-year-old Christine Englehardt of Richboro was found dead in her South Beach hotel room during spring break on March 18. 21-year-old Evoire Collier and 24-year-old Dorian Taylor have been behind bars since March charged with sexual battery, burglary and theft. A Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's report was released on Monday, 7/12. It states Englehardt's cause of death as "prone positioning while under the influence of Fentanyl and Ethanol." Green pills confiscated from the defendants tested positive for Fentanyl. "Although the concentration of fentanyl detected is fatal, a component of positional asphyxia, with her face pressed down into soft bedding as a result of physical restraint and/or chemical impairment to facilitate sexual assault, cannot be excluded," the report said. Video from the Albion Hotel shows the defendants holding Englehardt up as they walk through the lobby, apparently not in a state to consent.

A Montgomery County high school athletic trainer is accused of supplying several teenagers with alcohol hours before a deadly DUI crash last year. District Attorney Kevin Steele and Pottstown Police Chief Mick Markovich announced on Tuesday, 7/13, that 35-year-old Kelsey Martin of Pottstown has been charged with six counts of furnishing liquor to a minor. It happened on August 10, 2020. Just after midnight, four 18-year-olds came to her home and drank beer for several hours on her back deck. She knew at least one of them from her position at Owen J. Roberts High School. One male drank so much he had to be helped into the car. They left around 5 a.m. and crashed shortly after. 18-year-old Louis Carbajal died as result of his injuries from the one-car crash on South Hanover Street in North Coventry Township, Chester County. The driver, Connor Quinn, faces homicide by vehicle while intoxicated, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault by vehicle, reckless driving and related charges. He is out on bail awaiting trial. She had supplied two of the young men alcohol on another occasion.

The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash with a SEPTA train died on Tuesday afternoon, 7/13. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Bishop Avenue in Upper Darby. It occurred on the SEPTA Media/Elwyn Line between the Primos and Secane Stations. The train had 30 people on board at the time, but no one was injured. The identity of the driver has not been released.

In Philadelphia, a man was seriously injured when he was struck by a SEPTA bus in the Kingsessing neighborhood. It happened around 4:10 p.m. at 58th Street and Woodland Avenue. The bus driver was traveling eastbound on 58th Street and made a left turn onto Woodland. The 60-year-old victim was walking westbound on 58th Street and was crossing the street when he was hit by the bus. The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
