Rain Problems, Dining Out For Life, Philadelphia Teams Giving Back

A rainy Sunday is creating a problematic Monday across Philadelphia. Flooded streams and overloaded storm sewers puddled streets backing up traffic. High winds brought trees down interrupting power. And of course, many basements are under water. Over 2 inches of rain fell here, but this is nothing compared to what is on tap for western Pennsylvania today - a foot of snow.

Philadelphia restaurants are hosting the 22nd annual Dining Out For Life this Thursday April 26th to benefit support services for people with HIV and AIDS. Participating restaurants will donate 33% of what they bring in on dinner that night. A list of participating restaurants can be found at

It was a busy weekend at the South Philadelphia Sports complex this weekend. In addition to the Flyers beating the Penguins, the Phillies and Eagles hosted non sports events. On Saturday the Phillies hosted an electronics recycling event and on Sunday the cancer foundation For Pete’s Sake “Phight For Life”. At the Linc, the Eagles teamed with Children’s hospital for a day to benefit families of children with Autism.

The 76ers magic number is 1. A win tonight over the Nets or a Bucks loss secures a playoff spot.

The Phillies move to Arizona for a series with the Diamondbacks.
