iRadioPhilly Supports the Phillies E-Cycling Earth Day Event

Today is Earth Day 2012, the 42nd Earth Day dedicated to preserving the environment. Earth Day is designed to promote a sustainable future for Earth through responsible use of the planet's resources. Earth Day also promotes the proper re-use, or recycling through proper channels.

In Philadelphia, the Phillies “Red Goes Green” campaign encourages people to show the planet some love. The Phillies hosted an electronics recycling event on Saturday at Citizen’s Bank Park. Philadelphians were encouraged to bring old computers, TV’s, cell phones and other electronics to be safely recycled. The Phillies partnered with Waste Management in the e-cycle event. Waste Management professionally disassembles the electronics and recycles the glass, plastic and metal parts. The event hoped to fill 4 tractor trailers with recycled electronics.

iRadioPhilly supported the Phillies in their effort with a truckload donation of computers, monitors, keyboards, mice and other electronics. iRadioPhilly recently upgraded all of its computer systems and seized the opportunity to join the Phillies in celebrating Earth Day. The Phillies gave an autographed Hunter Pence photo to the first 200 to drop off electronics to recycle.
