Stolen SUV Found in DE Metro Murder; 3rd Death, 2nd Arrest in NJ Party; 2x Shooting Queens Village

Police in Delaware have located the stolen SUV that belonged to the Metro by T Mobile employee who was killed in a robbery earlier this month. It happened on May 15 at the cell phone store in Elsmere, New Castle County store. 28-year-old Leslie Ruiz-Basilio was shot and killed during the robbery. The suspect, who arrived on a blue bike, stole her black 2008 Cadillac Escalade to flee the scene. Police say that the vehicle was found in Philadelphia. The search for the suspect continues. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information, call police at (302) 998-1173 ext. 208.

A third person has died from their injuries after gunfire erupted at a house party in South Jersey on Saturday night, 5/22. A second person is also now under arrest. New Jersey State Police announced that 19-year-old Braylin Holmes of Millville died on Monday night, 5/24. 30-year-old Darrell Dawkins of Bridgeton was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun. Authorities say it does not appear he was the gunman. It happened around 11:50 p.m. East Commerce Street in Fairfield Township near Bridgeton. There were over 100 people at a birthday party when shots rang out. Two other people were shot and killed and 11 others injured. 30-year-old Kevin Elliott and 25-year-old Asia Hester were the others killed in the shooting. 36-year-old Kevin Dawkins of Bridgeton was arrested and charged with gun crimes. The investigation is ongoing.

A man was killed and a woman critically injured in a double shooting in Queen's Village on Monday night, 5/24. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 200 block of Bainbridge Street. The couple was sitting inside a parked white Mercedes when another car pulled up beside them. The shooter got out of the car and opened fire. The 38-year-old man in the driver's seat was shot multiple times in the neck and chest. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and died a short time later. The 25-year-old woman was found on the road with gunshot wounds to the stomach and thigh. She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition. Police found 11 spent shell casings. No arrests have been made.
