Philadelphia Police are investigating after a teenager and a woman were shot while at a North Philadelphia playground on Wednesday night, 5/19. It happened around 9:15 p.m. at the Hancock Playground at Master and N. Mascher streets in Olde Kensington. The gunman walked onto the playground and fired at least five shots. "We know that there was a large amount of people at this recreation center, including teenagers, juveniles, young adults and other adults that were on the property at the time," said Chief Inspector Scott Small. A 35-year-old woman, who was playing a game of kickball, was shot in the back. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A 16-year-old boy, who was also at the playground, was shot in the shoulder. He is in stable condition. No one else was injured. No arrests have been made. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Three people were found dead in a Bethlehem hotel on Wednesday morning, 5/19. The discovery was made around 10:30 a.m. at the Comfort Suites at 120 W. Third St. The sister of one of the deceased came to check on her brother. Two men and a woman were found dead in the second-floor room. Their deaths appear to be drug related. Toxicology results will confirm. Their identities have not been released pending family notification, but the men were in their 40's and the woman was around 30. The scene was initially declared a haz-mat situation, but that was soon lifted. Authorities are pushing to find who supplied the drugs that caused these deaths. "To have three people in the room die of an overdose is a giant problem and we're definitely going to be looking into this," Bethlehem police Capt. Tim Cooper said. "We have to treat these scenes almost like homicide scenes because our ultimate goal in a case like this is to make sure we have enough evidence to bring charges against the person or persons responsible for providing the drugs."

A Delaware state senator has been arrested for punching a woman at a Wilmington restaurant in a domestic incident. 39-year-old Darius Brown is charged with misdemeanor charges of offensive touching and disorderly conduct. It happened on Saturday evening, 5/15, at the Taverna Rustic Italian Restaurant. Brown is accused of hitting the woman on the side her face. He then threw a glass of water, shattering it, before leaving. Police say they were arguing over a social media post. Brown turned himself in on Tuesday, 5/18. He was released on his own recognizance and is not to have contact with the victim. Brown represents part of Wilmington.
