The Flyers head into Pittsburg tonight to close out the series in game 5 with the Penguins. Head Coach Peter Laviolette says Ilya Bryzgalov will be in the net as the Flyers try to bounce back from the 10-3 loss in game 4. Defenseman Nick Grossman is injured and will not play.

Penn State has made a payment to the estate of former football coach Joe Paterno in the amount of $6.7 million. The Board of Trustees had fired Paterno but decided to honor the payment terms of Paterno’s contract as if he had retired at the end of the 2011 season.

A plan to open a casino on North Broad Street has some residents concerned that it won’t be compatible with the neighborhood. Developer Bart Blatstein plans to build a $500 million dollar gambling parlor at the old Inquirer building. Residents would prefer a hotel, condos or offices on the site.
