Two people were killed when tractor trailer carrying a load of watermelons crashed into a bridge on Thursday night, 4/22. It happened around 9:22 p.m. in the northbound lanes along the New Jersey Turnpike near the Robbinsville Exit 7A in Mercer County. The truck collided head on with a support beam of the overpass bridge. Its load of watermelons spilled across the road. New Jersey State Police called it a "serious" crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Northern Liberties on Thursday evening, 4/22. It happened around 5:25 p.m. on the 600 block of Green Street. The 20-year-old man was shot multiple time in the chest, leg, and shoulder. He was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital where he later died. Chief Inspector Scott Small says that three men exited a vehicle and opened fire. They shot 12 times, got back into a dark-colored Jeep with tinted windows, and fled. The victim has not been identified. No arrests have been made. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin says that the gun used in the shooting spree outside a Wawa in Upper Macungie Township on Wednesday, 4/21, was legally purchased. 45-year-old Za Uk Lian began his spree by shooting at a woman's car while driving on Route 22 just before 5 a.m. When he arrived at the Wawa parking lot, he shot and injured a man sitting in a Jeep before shooting and killing a truck driver pumping gas. Lian then walked a short distance down the road before killing himself. Martin says that Lian purchased the .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol legally in January. He then applied for a concealed carry permit in February and received the approval last month.
