Dick Clark passed away yesterday of a massive heart attack. Early in his career, Dick Clark was a disc jockey on Philadelphia radio station WFIL and skyrocketed to stardom when he became the full time host of the Philadelphia based TV show Bandstand in 1952. The music that Dick Clark is most remembered for are the pop hits of the 50's and 60's. You can hear that great music 24/7 on iRadioPhilly's oldies radio station, Bandstand.

There is a warning out today to beware of a new fake check scam. The check looks like it’s from New Jersey Department of Treasury. Scammers try to pass the checks to victims and instruct them to wire money from their personal accounts to a bank account controlled by the scammers. The fake check bounces and the victims lose the money they have wired.

Traffic flow has slowed on the Ben Franklin Parkway at 20th and Vine and rush hour drivers are steaming. Parking kiosks were installed in the left lane of the outbound outer drive and a bicycle lane was put along the right curb. The result, one lane of traffic, even during rush hour. The City will make changes. Beginning next week, no parking during rush hour.

Sports
The Phillies open a 4 games series tonight in San Diego with the Padres.
