Philadelphia radio legend Cody Anderson has passed away. He was the long time general manager of WDAS-FM and first GM of WURD-AM. Anderson was also the former owner/operator of WHAT-AM.

Philadelphia City Council President Darrell Clarke said on Twitter, "Cody was a pioneer and giant in broadcast journalism in the Black community in Philadelphia for decades. He was a consistent, constructive, confident voice on the air. He encouraged persons of color to enter politics, to serve people and make their communities better places to live. A symbol of positivity, class and achievement for our community is gone. It is on us now to carry on in his memory and in service to others. Rest in Power, my good friend."

The Black Doctor's COVID-19 Consortium vaccinated over 4,000 Philadelphians during its 24-hour vax-a-thon between Friday and Saturday. It was held at the Liacouras Center at Temple University. There were long lines around the building all day and overnight, despite the cold snowy weather. The BDCC started with 2,500 doses, but ordered 1,900 more from the city after midnight Saturday. This clinic was only open to those in Phase 1A and 1B, but you also had to reside in one of several identified vulnerable zip codes in North and West Philadelphia. Anyone who received their first doses this weekend will be scheduled to return for the second dose in about 4 weeks. The consortium could hold a similar marathon clinic in the future.

A woman shot and injured an intruder who broke into her Kensington home early Sunday morning, 2/21. It happened just before 3 a.m. on the 3100 block of Arbor Street. The 32-year-old man broke into the home and attacked two women, ages 26 and 27. One on the women shot the intruder in thigh. He was taken to hospital in critical condition. The women were not injured.
