Bill Cosby's Take on Trayvon, More Slashings in Holmesburg, NFL Lets in Casino Advertising Eagles W

Philadelphia Actor, comedian Bill Cosby has spoken up about the Trayvon Martin case. He says that we should be talking about race, but rather gun control. It doesn't solve anything to question whether suspect George Zimmerman is a racist, instead, we should be asking how he got a gun and who taught him how to use it.

Tires on 10 cars were flattened overnight in the Holmesburg section in the Northeast that has been at the center of the recent tires slashings. Police said vehicles in the area of Aldine and Erdrick Streets were targeted in the latest slashing spree, which discovered about 5 a.m. this morning. Residents in this area have been the targets of such vandalism repeatedly over the past few months, some individuals even being hit multiple times, and costing thousands of dollars in damages.

The NFL just updated their advertising rules that will now allow the 32 NFL teams to go after the $35 billion-a-year casino industry for sponsorships. Advertisments will be allowed in stadiums, game programs/brochures, and on local radio broadcast. Ads just can't promote a specific game such as slots or blackjack, just the entire gambling hall. The Philadelphia Eagles are uniquely positioned to take in a lot of money from this new advertising category. The Philadelphia area has 4 casinos itself, plus 3 in Delaware, 1 in Allentown, and Atlantic City is an hour down the Expressway. It's a sure bet there'll be a casino sign in the Linc this fall, start taking odds on who it'll be.

In Sports, Penguins forwards James Neal and Arron Asham face separate disciplinary hearings Tuesday for their actions in Sunday's loss to the Flyers. The Phillies take on the Giants in San Francisco later tonight. Roy Halladay vs Tim Lincecum on the mound.

Beautiful weather the rest of the evening, temperatures holding in the 70's with partly cloudy skies in Philadelphia.
