A home invasion and assault has now turned into a murder investigation after the 83-year-old victim died from his injuries. It happened sometime between 9 p.m. New Year's Eve and 3 a.m. New Year's Day on the 3900 block of North Fairhill Street in Hunting Park. The victim's daughter and son-in-law found the man bound and gagged on the living room floor. He had been hit several times with a fist or blunt object. A black safe with cash and documents was missing. Police confirmed on Tuesday, 1/19, that the victim passed away. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

A popular Instagram influencer and Pennsylvania-native who was found dead in Houston in November was strangled according to an autopsy report released on Tuesday, 1/19. 26-year-old Alexis Sharkey was found dead on the side of the road by a sanitation worker on Saturday, November 28. She was discovered in a bush and naked with no visible injuries. Sharkey had gone missing on 11/27. Her death has been ruled a homicide. Alexis had moved to Houston with her husband, Tom Sharkey, in January 2020. "I do believe she was murdered. Yes. From what I've been able to gather as well as a mother's gut," her mother, Stacey Robinault, said back in November. She lives in northwestern Pennsylvania. Her friends say that Alexis recently confided in them that she was afraid for her safety. "I looked at her and I was like she's petrified. This girl is scared for her life," her friends said. The investigation is currently underway.
