The General Services Administration has ascertained that Joe Biden is the apparent winner of the Presidential Election. This opens the formal transition process and will give Biden's transition team access to resources, money, and coordination with federal agencies. Administrator Emily Murphy sent Joe Biden a formal letter on Monday, 11/23, informing him of her determination. She said that recent post-election developments informed the ascertainment. Michigan certified their votes on Monday, confirming a Biden victory. Over the weekend a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania seeking to stop the certification of votes. On Monday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court rejected five lawsuits brought by the Trump campaign looking to invalidate some 8,000 votes. Despite the formal transition process beginning, President Donald Trump has not conceded the race and is vowing to continue to fight. Time is running out and most of his legal avenues are being extinguished.

Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia unsealed a superseding indictment on Monday, 11/23, accusing 15 members and associates of the South Philadelphia and South Jersey organized crime family, La Cosa Nostra, of racketeering conspiracy, illegal gambling, loansharking, extortion and drug trafficking. Prosecutors say that the crime family used its "reputation and influence to exercise control over criminal rackets, like bookmaking and loansharking, in Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, particularly Atlantic City." Ten of the men are accused of engaging in racketeering and collecting unlawful debts. The other five are accused of running an illegal gambling business, conspiring to make extortionate extensions of credit and conspiring to distribute controlled substances. The defendants include Steven Mazzone, aka "Stevie," age 56; Domenic Grande, aka "Dom," aka "Mr. Hopkins," aka "Mr. Brown," aka "Dom14," age 41; Joseph Servidio, aka "Joey Electric," age 60; Salvatore Mazzone, aka "Sonny," age 55; Joseph Malone, age 70; Louis Barretta, aka "Louie Sheep," age 56; Victor DeLuca, aka "Big Vic," age 56; Kenneth Arabia, aka "Kenny," age 67; Daniel Castelli, aka "Danny," aka "Cozzy," aka "Butch," aka "Harry," age 67; Carl Chianese, age 81; Anthony Gifoli, aka "Tony Meatballs," age 73; John Romeo, age 58; Daniel Malatesta, age 75; Daniel Bucceroni, age 66; and John Michael Payne, age 34.

"The Philadelphia mob isn't what it used to be, and thank God for that," said U.S. Attorney McSwain in a statement. "But it is still a problem and is still allegedly committing serious federal crimes." The investigation involved the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania office of the Attorney General, and the Philadelphia Police Department.

A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a shooting outside of the Willow Grove Mall last weekend. Abington Police say that 17-year-old Justin Bermudez of Philadelphia will be charged as an adult. 18-year-old Heyzer Perez-Maldonado was arrested last week. Both teens are charged with Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and Carrying a Firearm without a License. The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, in the parking lot outside of Primark and Nordstrom Rack. It stemmed from an earlier argument that happened inside the mall. The shooting victim was taken to Abington-Jefferson Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Bail was set at $500,000 each.
