The University of Delaware has suspended 19 student-athletes after they violated university coronavirus COVID-19 guidelines. The suspensions of the swimming and diving student-athletes range from 6 weeks to the rest of the semester. They cannot participate in any athletic related activities. The infractions happened because the students attended a large off-campus party on September 26. That violated COVID-19 guidelines, the student-athlete social pledge, and the Newark city ordinance for indoor gatherings. All 19 student-athletes were quarantined immediately and have tested negative. "We have spoken to our student-athletes at length about their responsibility of being back on campus. The protocols and guidelines put into place are ones that must be followed for us to provide a safe environment for not only the University, but our community as well." Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Services Chrissi Rawak said. "While we have been fortunate with the behavior from a majority of our student-athletes in following the guidelines and social pledge. we cannot let up, we must stay focused and disciplined in all of our choices."

Philadelphia firefighters rescued a 70-year-old man from a trash chute early Monday morning, 10/12, in the Logan Square neighborhood. It happened around 3 a.m. at The Watermark building, a retirement community, located on the unit block of Franklin Town Boulevard. Police say the man fell about 14 feet and was trapped for 35 minutes before being extricated. He had some bumps and bruises and injured a knee. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No word on how he got into the chute.

Pennsylvania American Water has issued a boil water advisory for its customers in parts of Montgomery County due to a water main break. It affects 33,500 customers in Norristown, Bridgeport, portions of West Norriton, East Norriton, Upper Merion, Plymouth, Lower Providence, Whitemarsh and Perkiomen Townships. The water is ok for bathing and clothes washing, but not for drinking or cooking. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute and then cooled before use. The advisory is in effect until further notice.

Advisory Alert: AW EMERGENCY ALERT
