Pennsylvania Republican Senator Pat Toomey has reportedly decided not to run for another term in the U.S. Senate or to run for Governor in 2022. The 58-year-old is expected to serve out the remaining two years on his term in Washington, D.C. He was seen as the likely GOP candidate for governor. Toomey has advocated for term limits. He defeated Democrats Joe Sestak in 2010 and Katie McGinty in 2016 for his two terms in the Senate. An official announcement is expected on Monday.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning, 10/4. It happened before 3 a.m. on the 4100 block of Whitaker Avenue near Hunting Park Ave in Juniata. The driver struck the pedestrian and dragged them down the street. Police arrived to find the victim on the sidewalk. Medics pronounced them dead at the scene. Investigators are trying to identify the person. Parts of the vehicle were found at the scene. Police are looking for surveillance footage in the area.

Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times in West Philadelphia late Saturday night, 10/3. It happened before 11 p.m. on the 1600 block of North 60th Street in Overbrook. The 45-year-old man went outside of his home after receiving a phone call from a woman. They had some sort of argument. He went back inside. Investigators say that's when an unknown man kicked in the front door and fired shots at the man. Police found the victim with multiple shots to his abdomen and arm. He was taken to Lankenau Hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made.
