AMBER ALERT CANCELED Child Abduction for Cheltenham Township - 7yo Giselle Torres Found Safe

UPDATE: AMBER ALERT CANCELED - The child has been found safe in New York City. The suspect is in custody. 7-year-old Giselle Torres was found safely in New York City after going missing from the Elkins Park neighborhood of Cheltenham Township on Friday afternoon. Her estranged father, 41-year-old Juan Pablo Torres, and two other men abducted the girl. Police believed they were taking his to Torres' home in Queens, NY. "One of our hostage negotiators was able to get him on the phone and negotiate his surrender to the New York City Police Dept." said Lt. Andy Snyder of the Cheltenham Police. Torres is facing multiple charges including kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child as well as other related charges.

The Pennsylvania State Police has issued an Amber Child Abduction Alert for Cheltenham Township Police Department, Montgomery County.

Cheltenham Township Police Department is searching for Giselle Torres, a Hispanic female, age 7, 4'0" tall, brown eyes, brown hair, wearing a white tank top and purple tights. She was last seen at 2:18 PM at Montgomery Ave. Elkins Park, PA.

Giselle Torres was reported abducted by Juan Pablo Torres age 41, Hispanic male, 5'4" tall, 160lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, wearing body armor, a facemask, and glasses. Juan Pablo Torres is to be driving a white or black Dodge Charger unknown registration.

Anyone with information about the abduction should immediately contact the police by calling 911, or Cheltenham Township Police Department at 215-885-1600
