Two men have been arrested in connection to a police car fire in Southwest Philadelphia early Sunday morning, 9/20. It happened around 3:30 a.m. on the 2100 block of S. Simpson Street. The police car was parked near the 12th Police District. The fire department responded to the scene and put out the fire. There was heavy damage to the rear of the vehicle. Police were able to use surveillance video to follow the suspects to a home on the 2100 block of Simpson Street. The two men, ages 31 and 59, were found hiding on a porch. They recovered a gas can and clothes worn by the men. The suspects also smelled of gasoline. Their identities or any charges have not been released.

There was a heavy police response after shots were reported Saturday afternoon, 9/19, at the Lehigh Valley Mall in Whitehall, PA. It happened just before 5 p.m. on the lower level of the mall near Modell's Sporting Goods. There were reports of 4 shots being fired. Shoppers and staff either ran from the mall or hid. Authorities arrived in force including dozens of police and the SWAT team. Area hospitals were put on notice. Several stores went into active shooter lockdown and waited for the police to clear them. It took several hours for officers to search store by store. The shooter was not found, but some shell casings were retrieved. No one was injured. Authorities are going through mall security tapes hoping to find the suspect(s).

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot and killed on Saturday evening. It happened just after 6 p.m. on the 2400 block of West Firth Street in North Philadelphia. The teenager was shot once in the head. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he later died. No arrests have been made.
