The Philadelphia Bomb Squad was on the scene after an explosion on the front porch of a home in West Philadelphia early Sunday morning, 9/6. It happened around 3:45 a.m. on the 200 block of South 62nd Street. Someone threw an explosive device onto the porch of the home. The front windows of that home and the next door home were shattered. Police believe it was a 'M-series' device. No one was home at the time and no one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

A woman is in custody after setting fire to a house in Olney and stabbing a man as he ran out of the burning home on Sunday afternoon, 9/6. It happened just before 5 p.m. on the 100 block of Roselyn Street. The woman intentionally set fire to the 84-year-old man's home. She then waited outside and stabbed him several times when he tried to run to safety. The man was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical but stable condition. The woman was taken in to custody. No charges have been field. She is being investigated by the police department for the assault and the fire department for the arson. Her identity has not been released. The nature of the woman and the man's relationship has not been revealed, but they do know each other.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art reopened to the public on Sunday, 9/6, for the first time since March. The museum has a few new coronavirus COVID-19 restrictions. All guests must wear masks or face coverings. There will be a temperature check upon entering. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the building. Social distancing will be enforced. The coat room is also closed. All entries must be made at the North (Kelly Drive) entrance. Tickets should be bought beforehand and are limited. You will choose a ticket by time of entry. More information is available at https://philamuseum.org.
