Two Philadelphia firemen from Ladder 10 lost their lives early this morning while battling a massive warehouse fire in Kensington. Lt. Robert Neary was 59 and FF Daniel Sweeney was 25. The 5 alarm blaze was mostly under control at the time. Two others were also injured when they all were checking on a hose line in an adjacent building when the wall and roof suddenly collapsed on them. City flags will fly at half mast for the next 30 days in honor.

Philadelphia police have arrested the alleged bicycle pickpocket, an incident that occurred last Monday. Erik Gomez was recognized from surveillance video showing him using a stolen card to buy cigarettes and junk food. He was picked up by police over the weekend. Last week, Gomez pedalled up next to KYW radio reporter Hadas Kuznits as she was riding her bike in Center City. He then stole her wallet out of her pocket and rode away, making those fradulent purchases shortly after.

The 4-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself in the chest Saturday is expected to recover. The young child found the 9 mm handgun under a pillow on his mother's bed where she keeps it for 'protection'. The boy's 23-year-old mother was downstairs at the time when she heard a shot and ran upstairs to find her son. He had emergency surgery at St. Christopher's. Police are investigating the accident.

In Sports, The Phillies lost the Home Opener today 6-2 to the Miami Marlins. Cole Hamels gave up 3 earned runs but struck out 9, while the Phils continue to sputter on offense.

The Flyers start their playoff series against the Penguins Wednesday.

The Sixers look to halt a 4 game losing skid tomorrow night at New Jersey.

Fire weather watch still in effect, The winds will continue this evening with temperatures in the 50's, maybe a stray shower overnight with a low of 43 in Philadelphia.
