A 4-year-old boy from the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia was in critical condition and undergoing surgery at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children after shooting himself in the chest. The young boy shot himself once with a loaded handgun that he found underneath a pillow on his mother's bed. His mother was at home at the time, just before 7pm Saturday, and heard the shot while she was downstairs. She called police who rushed the boy to the hospital. The 23-year-old mother keeps the gun there for protection. Police are still investigating the incident.

The two Pinelands wildfires in the Winslow Wildlife Management Area, Winslow Township, on Friday burned about 400 acres. They were split between a larger 375 acre and a smaller 25 acre fire, both close to the Atlantic City Expressway. They are now both contained, no injuries were reported, and no structures were in danger, however authorities are considering these two fires to be suspicious. The fires started overnight Thursday and their proximity to each other leads officials to believe they were not accidental, despite the red-flag warnings from the National Weather Service because of prime conditions, winds, low humidity, and lack of precipitation.

In Sports, Pittsburgh got the best of us today. The Flyers lost to the Penguins in the season finale 4-2, with Evgeni Malkin scoring his 50th goal of the season and his second NHL scoring title. The Phillies lost to the Pirates in 10 innings on a close play 2-1, when Alex Presley beat out an infield single to drive in pinch runner Mike McKenry for the walk-off for Pittsburgh.

The Sixers also lost 88-82 to the Orlando Magic.

Easter Sunday will be beautiful, Mainly sunny. High 68F in Philadelphia.
