It was another violent weekend in Philadelphia. At least 22 people were shot in over 10 separate shootings across the city between Saturday night and Sunday. The victims include men, women, and children of all ages, with many of the victims just collateral damage and not the intended targets. Six people were shot on Saturday night around 9:30 p.m. at a park on the 3800 block of Poplar Street in Mantua. A pregnant woman, two other women, and three teenage boys were hit. They are all in stable condition at the hospital. An 11-year-old was grazed by a bullet near the Olney Recreation Center on Saturday night, 8/8, around 10 p.m. Another 11-year-old suffered a graze wound to the back in a triple shooting in Grey's Ferry on Sunday night, 8/9, around 7:45 p.m. The violence continued overnight Saturday and Sunday with shooting victims arriving at city hospitals. No arrests have been made. City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson will be holding a virtual emergency public hearing on gun violence on August 11-12. You can find the information below and how to sign up to give public testimony.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw released a statement saying: "These acts of lawlessness have no place in our communities, and I remain steadfast in that we will hold accountable those individuals who seek to cause harm in our city. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these six victims, their families and everyone impacted by this terrible event."
