Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is continuing to urge eligible voters to apply for and cast mail-in votes in the upcoming primary election next month. This is the first time that Pennsylvanians can vote by mail without having to provide a reason. The election was moved to June 2 from April 28 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Voters may still not be comfortable heading out to the polls in 4 weeks. If you wish to vote by mail, you can request a ballot at votespa.com. You have until 5 p.m. on May 26 to apply. Gov. Wolf said on Monday, 5/4, that one million voters have already applied for a mail-in ballot. During the last presidential primary in 2016 there were only 80,000 absentee ballots cast. Once you receive your ballot, you have to return it by June 2 at 8 p.m. "I'd like to emphasize how important it is for voters to have their voice heard and be able to cast their ballot even in a pandemic. I encourage voters who wish to sign up for mail-in voting to do so as soon as possible," Gov. Tom Wolf said.

A 13-year-old boy has died after being shot in Chester on Sunday afternoon, 5/3. It happened around 2:20 p.m. on the 400 block of E. 20th Street. Witnesses say the boy was running through backyards and over fences to get away from the shooters. He was struck numerous times in the abdomen and head. The suspects fled in a silver 2007 Acura RDX with a Delaware registration. The boy, identified as Nyqueis Farlow, was taken to Alfred I. duPont Hospital where he died from his injuries on Monday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. No arrests have been made. If you have any information, call police at 610-447-8431.
