President Donald Trump has signed the $2.2 trillion CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) on Friday afternoon, 3/27. The United States Congress approved the act by voice vote earlier Friday. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., tried to force a recorded vote, but was denied because there was a quorum of House members present. The bill will send cash to many Americans, give loans/grants to small business, bolster unemployment programs, fund hospitals and more.

On Friday, Trump also ordered GM (General Motors) to manufacture ventilators under the Defense Production Act. They will be built in GM's Kokomo, Indiana manufacturing plant. GM will also be producing surgical masks in its facility in Warren, Michigan.
