Powerful storms and strong winds crossed the area as front blew through prompting unseasonal severe thunderstorm warnings and even tornado warnings. Many large trees were toppled with some unfortunately crashing down on cars and houses. There were also reports of roof damage, down wire, and power outages. There is still a wind advisory until early evening. Temperatures are expected to drop overnight to around 30. The National Weather Service is investigating possible tornados.

Authorities in Salem County, New Jersey, say that a man stabbed his wife and two young daughters to death inside their Penns Grove apartment before hanging himself in the woods in Carneys Point on Wednesday morning, 2/5. A passerby discovered the body of Eugenio Severino dead of an apparent suicide by hanging in the woods off of Sportsman Road. When police went to his address on Madole Place they found 30-year-old Ruth Reyes Severino, 4-year-old Eurianny, and 2-year-old Eurl stabbed to death. Ruth had filed a temporary restraining order against Eugenio on January 12th. It was finalized on January 16th.

A Montgomery County man has been charged with the beating death of his girlfriend after they got into a fight over a text message from her ex-boyfriend early Monday morning, 2/3. 23-year-old Nicholas Forman of Collegeville has been charged with first- and third-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Sabrina Harooni of Gilbertsville. It happened outside his home on the 900 block of Hamilton Road in Perkiomen Township. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele says it started on Sunday night when the two were watching the Super Bowl together at a bar in Oaks. The argument started when Harooni got a text message from her ex-boyfriend while they were on their way home in an Uber. It continued after they were dropped off. Forman carried her body inside. He says she was still breathing. At 9 a.m. Monday morning he took a shower and went to a 10 a.m. court date in Limerick. When he arrived home, he says she was unresponsive. He took her to Pottstown Hospital in an Uber where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Forman told police that they were followed home by three women who assaulted Harooni outside his residence, however, Steele says that detectives have recovered a video from Forman's phone that shows an unresponsive Harooni on her back with a male voice saying, "This is what a cheating liar gets."
