Philadelphia Police have arrested and charged a man for raping a woman in Love Park last month. 23-year-old Quindell Campbell is charged with aggravated assault, rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, recklessly endangering another person, and other related charges. Campbell was taken into custody around 8 p.m. Wednesday, 2/5, at his home on the 5200 block of N. Howard Street in North Philadelphia. It happened around 5 a.m. on Saturday, January 25. The female victim had just gotten off the El at 15th Street and was walking through the park on her way to work when she was attacked. Police received many tips from the public. They were able to track his movements from 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Detectives executed a search warrant at his home on February 1 and recovered evidence that ties him to the attack including clothing. Police say that Campbell altered his look by cutting his hair following the attack. He has no prior arrests.

A man was found shot to death inside a car in Point Breeze on Thursday morning, 2/6. It happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of S. 24th and Federal Streets. 31-year-old Quadir Flippen of the 2200 block of Wilder Street was in the driver seat of a black Honda Accord. The car had crashed into two parked SUVs. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Neighbors heard the gunshots and then the car crash. No weapon has been recovered and no arrests have been made.

Police in Delaware County are searching for a driver in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Friday, 1/31. It happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Lansdowne and Stewart Aves in Lansdowne. 80-year-old Bob Campbell was riding his bicycle when he was struck by two vehicles. The first vehicle, described as a tan or cream early 2000 Honda Accord, sped off. Campbell ended up on the windshield of the second vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries on Monday night, 2/3. Neighbors describe Campbell as friendly, outgoing, and active for his age. He apparently rode his bike everywhere. IF you have any information, contact Lansdowne Police Sgt. James McCaughan at 610-623-0700 ext. 207.
