Three Young Men Shot/Injured in Belmont; 60yo Man Shot and Killed; Philadelphia Mills Jewelry Heist

Three young people were shot and critically injured in the Belmont section of Philadelphia on Saturday evening, 1/18. It happened just before 8 p.m. on the 800 block of North 41st Street. A 24-year-old man was shot twice in the head and once in the chest. A 19-year-old man was shot once in the back. A 17-year-old boy was shot once in the chest and once in the thigh. All three were taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made.

A 59-year-old man was shot and killed inside his North Philadelphia home on Saturday evening, 1/18. The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 3000 block of Bambrey Street. The victim was shot multiple times in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. Relatives have identified him as John Rawls. A weapon was recovered but no arrests have been made. Authorities are working on a motive, but it may be robbery gone wrong.

Philadelphia Police searching for a thief after a jewelry heist at Philadelphia Mills on Saturday afternoon, 1/18. Police say that a $12,000 gold chain was stolen from Kay Jewelers. The suspect is described as 5' 8", 165 lbs, wearing a green camo jacket with a black hat and black pants. He was seen fleeing in an older model white vehicle. This is the second jewelry theft in the last month. Three suspects stole $55,000 worth of jewelry from Cheemi’s Boutique on December 31st.
