The North East Philly Tire Slasher on Video Has Been Arrested

Quincy Kramer, 21, has been arrested and charged with slashing the tires of nine cars last week in Northeast Philadelphia. He is the suspect in an incident that happened last Thursday night in the 3300 block of Cottman Ave. where cars were vandalized.

The vandal was caught on video surveillance camera in the act of slashing two of those tires, which was released by Philadelphia Police with a description looking for short-haired white male in his late teens or early 20s. Tipsters led Police to find Kramer.

It is not clear yet if Kramer is linked to any of the other incidents of tire vandalism that have plagued neighborhoods in the Northeast since last fall. In total, about 70-80 vehicles have been damaged. Sunday morning in Oxford Circle nine more vehicles were found slashed. This time witnesses say they may have seen a woman fleeing the seen.

Police believe that there may be several copy cats at work in these cases. Just because an arrest was made does not mean the attacks will stop. A reward totaling $7500 was in place for information leading towards arrests in these cases, copy cats may complicate the process of distributing that money. Regardless, police and residents will remain alert.
