10-year-old Boy Shot in Head in Frankford; Arrest in Fatal Hit-And-Run; Woman Stabbed in Fox Chase

Philadelphia police say that a 10-year-old boy was shot and critically injured while walking home from school in the city's Frankford section on Wednesday afternoon, 11/6. It happened around 3:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Margaret Street. 10-year-old Semaj O'Branty was walking home when gunfire rang out. He was struck in the back of the head by a stray bullet. He was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where he is in critical but stable condition. Police have a suspect in custody who was involved in the shooting, but not the gunman responsible for shooting O'Branty. Police say the suspect in custody was firing back at the other gunman who was in a a red Pontiac G6. The other gunman is still on the loose. U.S. Marshals arrested a suspect on Wednesday, 11/6, wanted for a hit-and-run accident in October that killed a man who was walking his dog. It happened on October 26th on the 700 block of West Berks Street. 26-year-old Michael Canals was walking his rescue dog Rosie. They were both struck and killed by a Pontiac minivan that fled the scene. Investigators issued a warrant for 33-year-old Khalif Moore on October 30th. They found out that he had been hiding in a family member's residence in Germantown. U.S. Marshals found him hiding in the basement of a home on West Duval Street and took him into custody after a brief struggle. Canals was a graduate of Drexel University and most recently worked at The Met Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a woman was found stabbed to death inside a bathroom in a Fox Chase home on Wednesday evening, 11/6. It happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Bergen Street. The 35-year-old woman's mother found her naked and unresponsive in a 2nd floor bathroom. Police say she had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: Police have arrested 30-year-old Arthur Caesar for the murder.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified her as 35-year-old Jill Millman. Her mother says that she had autism and worked as a prep cook at The Dining Car on Frankford Avenue.
