A 19-year-old woman was critically injured when her vehicle slammed into the back of a parked school bus and became wedged underneath as part of a multi-vehicle accident in West Philadelphia on Tuesday morning, 11/5. It happened after 11 a.m. at 59th and Chestnut Streets in Cobbs Creek. Police say that an 18-year-old man driving a black Scion swerved into the left lane and hit a black 2003 BMW driven by the 19yo woman. That caused the BMW to hit the unoccupied school bus. Rescue crews wer able to pull her out from the wreckage. She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and is in critical condition.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man was found dead in a home in the city's Rhawnhurst section early Tuesday morning, 11/5. Police discovered 59-year-old Al Chernoff tied to a bed with massive wounds to the the head and slashes to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was seen leaving the house before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.
