A man arrested at the West Philadelphia home where four of his family members were found shot to death on Wednesday, 10/30, has confessed to the crimes according to police. 28-year-old Maurice Louis is charged with four counts of criminal homicide and related offenses. Police were called to the home on the 5000 block of Walton Avenue for a welfare check after the two adult victims had failed to show up for work. No one answered the door and police climbed in a second floor window with the help of fire personnel. They found Louis sitting in a chair naked, drinking from a bottle of vodka, with the shotgun case next to him. They soon found the four bodies in different parts of the house. The victims are his mother 51-year-old Janet Woodson, his step-father 56-year-old Leslie Holmes, and his half-brothers 18-year-old Sy-eed Woodson and 7-year-old Leslie Woodson. Louis bought the shotgun on Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing.

A mother and her young daughter were struck by a vehicle while they were out trick-or-treating on Thursday night, 10/31, in Burlington County, New Jersey. It happened after 6:30 p.m. at Olive Street and Cedar Lane in Florence Township. The 33-year-old mother and her 3-year-old daughter were flown to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. They are both in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene. The vehicle has damage to its windshield. Police are investigating the accident.

New Jersey State Police are asking the public's help in searching for the parents of a juvenile boy who is a potential witness to the deadly amusement ride accident in Deerfield Township in early October. The boy was riding in the same cart that 10-year-old Hailey McMullen was thrown from and may have valuable information for the investigation. McMullen was killed on October 12th while riding the "Xtreme" Super Sizzler Ride at the annual Deerfield Township Harvest Festival. She was ejected from the ride and died later at the hospital from her injures. New Jersey state officials have shut down all Wisdom Super Sizzler type amusement park rides while the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgeton Station at 856-451-0101.
