A suspect is in custody and four family members are dead after a shooting in West Philadelphia on Wednesday, 10/30. Police responded to the 5000 block of Walton Avenue around 12:40 p.m. to perform a well-being check on a couple after they didn't show up for work earlier on Wednesday. Police discovered the 51-year-old woman shot near the front door. A 17-year-old boy was shot in his bedroom. A 6-year-old boy was shot in the kitchen and the stepfather was shot near the basement door. They were all pronounced dead at the scene. The 29-year-old suspect was found in a second floor bedroom. He is related to the family and is suspected to have mental issues. A weapon was recovered. The investigation is ongoing.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli is recommending that charges be dropped against a woman who left her 1-month-old baby on a Bethlehem bus last week. 26-year-old Ashley Walters boarded a bus and put her infant son on the fare box telling the driver she couldn't take care of him. She walked away in tears and was arrested a short time later for child endangerment. Pennsylvania law allows mothers to drop off a baby up to 28 days old at a police station or hospital. Walters' baby was 32 days old. Morganelli does recommend that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor Township was locked down for a short time on Wednesday, 10/30. It started at 11:50 a.m. and was lifted at 12:20 p.m. No weapon was found on campus. A student was questioned by police, but no charges are pending.
