The late Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, the former Archbishop of Philadelphia, has been mentioned alongside new lawsuits against the Diocese of Brooklyn. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed in New York state since the Child Victims Act went into effect last month. That legislation extends the statute of limitations for victims of childhood abuse to file lawsuits to age 55 or to seek criminal charges to 26. It also opens a "lookback window" for all ages for one year. A previous accuser of Bevilacqua spoke Thursday morning, 9/10, at a press conference saying that the then Bishop Bevilacqua sexually assaulted her when she was 9 years old at her confirmation. A year ago, in September 2018, Heather Taylor named Bevilacqua in a lawsuit against the Diocese of Pittsburgh claiming that the then Bishop took her aside during a visit to her school and groped her chest over her uniform. Bevilacqua served as Bishop of Pittsburgh from 1983 to 1987. Previously, Bevilacqua was accused of hiding priests' misconduct and covering up sex abuse by transferring clerics to new assignments. He died in 2012 of cancer before being able to testify at trial. Taylor was in Brooklyn to show support for other victims.

A naked man is under arrest after going on a rampage down a neighborhood street smashing car windows in Northeast Philadelphia on Monday night, 9/9. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 2300 block of Tremont Street in Bustleton. A witness, Layla Hasanova, says he was screaming and using his fists and elbows to smash windshields, mirrors, and car windows. She stayed back with her children. Police arrived and had to taser the 42-year-old man to get him to stop. He was taken to Nazareth Hospital to be treated for cuts. Hasanova taped notes to the damaged cars saying, "A naked man, probably on drugs, did this to your car last night. Call Police for a report."

UPDATE: 42-year-old Gregory Maxwell, of Philadelphia, has been charged with five counts of criminal mischief.

A Delaware man has been arrested and charged for striking and killing his relative with a rake. 47-year-old Keith Landry is charged with manslaughter and possession of a deadly weapon during a felony. It happened on August 20 in Dover, DE. During a fight with 39-year-old Gerard Landry, Keith hit him with a rake. Police arrived and found the victim on the ground. Witnesses said the man was drunk and fell. After he died in the hospital, an autopsy determined that his injuries suggested that he was struck and that he didn't just fall. Keith is being held on $50,000 cash bond. His next date in court is September 20th.
