Two men have been arrested and charged in the death of a 7-year-old boy on SEPTA's Broad Street Line last September. The boy's father, 37-year-old Troy Devlin of Philadelphia, is charged with manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and reckless endangerment of another person. Their family friend, 26-year-old Jahras Edwards, is charged with murder, conspiracy, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and recklessly endangering another person. On September 23, 2018, 7-year-old Aden Devlin was riding on the subway with his 11-year-old brother and Edwards. He was left unsupervised and was selling candy to passengers, something that he was forced to do. While Aden was moving between subway cars near the Allegheny Station, he slipped, fell, and was run over. "(Aden) should not have been put to work for the benefit of adults entrusted with his welfare, and he should not have been put to work on a moving subway car without adult supervision, let alone moving between cars while the subway was in motion," said District Attorney Larry Krasner's office.
