Suspect Wanted in Deadly Stabbing Over Instagram Post; Missing Kayaker in New Jersey

Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted in a deadly double stabbing in the Brewerytown neighborhood on Monday night, 8/19, that was the result of an argument over social media. It happened just after 11:30 p.m. at 29th and Jefferson Streets. Apparently, the 19-year-old female suspect was in a fight with two sisters because of something posted on Instagram. During the confrontation, the suspect used a knife. 23-year-old Shawntae Garrison (pictured) was stabbed several times in her chest, back, and legs. She died. Her sister, 28-year-old Tayshawn Layton, was also stabbed mulitple times. Layton is in stable condition at Temple University Hospital. Police know the identity of the suspect and she lives nearby. They are working on viewing surveillance cameras from the area.

The Coast Guard is searching for a man who went missing while kayaking on the Maurice River in Cumberland County, New Jersey on Monday, 8/19. The New Jersey State Police and Downe Township Rescue Squad from Cumberland County are also involved in the search. The man was last seen near the East Point Lighthouse in Heislerville, New Jersey, around 5 p.m. on Monday. He was reported missing at 12:30 a.m. On Tuesday morning, 8/20, State Police found a yellow kayak matching the description of the man's boat. He was wearing a camouflage colored lifejacket.
