Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian in Bucks County early Monday morning, 8/12. The body of 38-year-old Timothy McGuire of Ogden was found in the bushes along Hulmeville Road near King Avenue in Bensalem after 6 a.m. by a neighbor out for a walk. Police believe that he was actually hit hours earlier around 2:30 a.m. while walking along the road. Green plastic parts of a fender and headlight were left at the scene of the crash. Authorities credit tips from the public in helping find a green Kia Soul with front end damage parked on Edgewood Avenue in Bensalem. Police have arrested 21-year-old Richard McCausland as the driver. The car is a company vehicle belonging to McCausland's mother and he did not have permission to drive it. McCausland is being held on $500,000 bail. He has been charged with homicide by vehicle and other related offenses.

A teenager was shot in the legs during an altercation on an El platform in Center City on Monday afternoon, 8/12. It happened just after 3:15 p.m. on the eastbound platform of the 15th Street Station of the Market-Frankford line. A 19-year-old male and the suspect were have an argument when the suspect shot the teen. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and is in stable condition. SEPTA and Philadelphia police are looking for the suspect. No weapon was found and no arrests have been made. The station was very busy due to the temporary closure of SEPTA trolly lines in Center City for maintenance. The Market-Frankford line is running again with minor delays.

Eleven people were rescued after being stranded on the Brandywine River on Sunday night, 8/11. The group was part of a tubing event in Chester County. As they floated down the river, they became stranded on some rocks around 9 p.m. Someone was able to call 911. It took firefighters almost an hour to reach them. They were finally brought to the Smith Bridge in Montchanin, Delaware at 11 p.m. Aside from some hypothermia treated on scene, everyone is ok.
