A Philadelphia man wanted for shooting and killing his father over the weekend was taken into custody near Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Tuesday afternoon, 8/6. 31-year-old Sohan Panjrolia was arrested by US Marshals near Harvard Square after following a tip. Panjrolia had previously attended Harvard. He is accused in the murder of his father. It happened on Saturday, 8/3, around 9:30 p.m. on the 1900 block on Conwall Avenue in Philadelphia's Bustleton section. He loaded a rifle while inside a bathroom at his parent's home. Panjrolia then walked out into the living room where his parent's were watching TV. He fired multiple shots at his father, 60-year-old Mahendra B. Panjrolia, hitting him in the head and chest. The mother fled the home screaming. The investigation is ongoing.

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, aka Robert Rihmeek Williams, appeared in court on Tuesday morning, 8/6, for a status hearing. A decision on whether or not he will be retried on gun and drug charges won't be known until later this month. The new status hearing has bene rescheduled for August 27. Mill's lawyers said in a statement, "While we had hoped that this matter would end today, we remain confident that justice will prevail in Meek's case once and for all." Last month, a 3-judge panel appeals court in Superior Court overturned his 2008 conviction based on new evidence in the form of an unreliable witness. The District Attorney's office has not indicated if it would pursue a new trial or not, but it did support him in the appeal. Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley, who oversaw the original trial and the entire 10 years of probation, will not preside over a new trial. Meek Mill has become outspoken about criminal justice reform.

Philadelphia 76ers star and Australia-native Ben Simmons posted on social media last night about an incident at a casino in Melbourne. It happened at the Crown Casino. Simmons was with a group of friends and tried to enter the casino floor when the security guards asked them to present identification. Simmons posted a video on Instagram and insinuates that certain members of his entourage, including himself, were 'singled out' due to their skin color. The Crown Casino 'strenuously rejects' any claims of discrimination. It insists that anyone believed to be under 25 is asked for identification.

"Crown strenuously rejects reports that it discriminated against a group of visitors last night.

Crowns internal security policy requires our security officers to check identification of those persons they believe to be under the age of 25, this is an enhanced safeguard to ensure that no one under the age of 18 is permitted entry to the Casino Floor as required by Law.

The group subsequently provided identification and were permitted entry.

Crown is an inclusive workplace."
