The U.S. Attorney's office says that over $1 billion worth of cocaine was seized during a drug bust at the Port of Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, 6/18. Officials say that 16.5 tons of cocaine have been confiscated. The drugs were found in seven containers aboard the MSC Gayane. The ship had previously travelled from Chile, Peru, Panama, and the Bahamas. This is the largest drug seizures in the history of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The ship's crew have been arrested and federally charged.

UPDATE: US Customs and Border Protection officials have raised the estimate of cocaine seized to 17.5 tons worth $1.1 billion. Six crew members have been arrested.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has just been ranked No. 2 Best Children's Hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Boston Children's Hospital was number 1 while Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and Texas Children's Hospital tied for third. CHOP ranked also high for pediatric specialties. It was first in Pediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology and Pediatric Gastroenterology & GI Surgery; second in Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery, Pediatric Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, and Pediatric Urology; third in Neonatology and Pediatric Orthopedics; fourth in Pediatric Nephrology; and Pediatric Cancer and Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery. This methodology factors objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices.

New Jersey is giving away free doses of naloxone, also known as narcan, on Tuesday, 6/16. The overdose-reversal nasal spray is used when a person is overdosing from opioid type drugs such as heroin, fentanyl, or prescription painkillers. You can get your free dose of narcan today at many participating pharmacies around the state. See the full list here.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that training camp will start with players reporting on Wednesday, July 24. The first full team practice will be Thursday, July 25, at the NovaCare Complex. There will only be one practice open to the public this year. That will take place at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, August 4 at 7 p.m. Unlike other years where admission was free, this year's open practice will cost $10.
