A large fire destroyed a New Jersey boardwalk cafe near Asbury Park on Saturday, 4/13. It started around 11:30 a.m. at the Dunes Boardwalk Cafe at 4 North End Boardwalk in Ocean Grove. The building houses several businesses and would have opened for the season in May. The roof collapsed at 2 p.m. and firefighters were still putting out hot spots into Saturday night. The fire started underneath the building, but investigators are still determining the cause. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. see videos below:

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills and Washington Wizards forward Devin Robinson were involved in a fight outside of a DC nightclub and were arrested early Saturday morning, 4/13. It happened outside the Opera Night Club. The police report says two athletes were "involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into a physical altercation on the sidewalk adjacent to the Opera Night Club." They were charged with disorderly affray. The Washington Wizards said, "We are aware of the incident this morning involving Devin and are disappointed in his actions. We will not extend him a qualifying offer for the 2019-20 season." The Philadelphia Eagles only said they are "aware of the situation" and are "continuing to gather more information."

A New Jersey man who had been convicted of strangling his estranged wife and suffocating her infant daughter was sentenced on Friday, 4/12. 37-year-old Ricardo Carrillo-Santiago of Millville, Cumberland County, was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. He also received 10 years for unlawful disposal of human remains. He was convicted in January of killing 34-year-old Neidy Ramirez and three-month old Genesis at her Vineland apartment in 2015. Ramirez had gone missing in December 2015. Her vehicle was found abandoned on Route 55. The bodies were found in the Fairfield Township game preserve. Judge Robert Malestein called the case "shocking, gruesome, and troublesome." He said that Carrillo-Santiago was angry that his estranged wife was involved with another man and had a child with that person. Carrillo-Santiago did express remorse through a translator. "I just want to ask for forgiveness for everything that I have done," Carrillo-Santiago said. "I regret what I did. And I ask for everybody's forgiveness, especially my children. I'm sorry."
